Inspiration: Modern Farmhouse Mood Board

After we purchased our new (really old) farmhouse, my Pinterest obsession really ramped up. Ramped up to the point of minor addiction…like I’m talking, fall asleep “pinning” on my phone. I would wake up in the morning and review my half asleep pins, and it got really foggy and strange a few times. I used it like google, or the ultimate source for inspiration. But my pin boards quickly got overwhelming! I felt like it was important for research, but I wanted to be able to see the entire mood of a room on one page, so I started putting together inspiration or mood boards. It became really important for me to digitally put these pages together, so that I could see everything working together and really start to visualize rooms, and also source items that were on my shopping list!!!

TIP: This should be step #2 for any renovations or home décor project. It forced me to bring my “want” list in to reality and stay within a budget.

TIP: step #1 – drooling over beautiful images! (for research)

There were a few things I knew would help transform the (really old) farmhouse in to a modern farmhouse, I researched these A LOT:

Rustic Beams + white walls // source

White farmhouse sink + shaker style kitchen cabinets + brushed nickel pulls // source

modern wood stove // source

White subway tile // source
